Driving in Madrid
Hire a 7 seater rental car in Madrid and drive around
Driving in Spain is not much different than driving in the rest of Europe as the rules are very similar. But even if you have never driven in Europe before you can still enjoy your time driving a 7 seater rental car around Madrid. Just familiarize yourself with the rules and regulations (which Spain enforces with strict penalties) and you will get along just fine.

Rules and Regulations
Driving in Spain is done on the right side. You must be 18 years or older to drive and must carry a valid driving license. It is illegal to talk on a mobile phone unless it is completely hands-free. Any type of headphone or earphone is illegal as well and punishable by a large fine and penalty points.
All passing must be done on the left side in free-flowing traffic, and drivers must give way to traffic from the left, particularly at roundabouts and traffic circles. A solid white line in the road means you can not change lanes.

Driving over the posted speed limits in Madrid in your car hire with seven seats is highly unadvisable. Spain has added several speed cameras to its roads to detect drivers exceeding the speed limit. In addition, some are equipped to alert the nearest traffic officer in the event a foreign-plated car is caught exceeding the speed limit. The officer will demand a large on-the-spot fine, and if it is not paid the car may be immobilized! Not a very fun way to spend your vacation.
When driving in Madrid you will need to stock your 7 seater car hire with a yellow, orange or red reflective vest, two red warning triangles, a first aid kit, a spare wheel, and corrective glasses if you need them.
